Val The wellness Gal
As a certified meditation teacher through Dr. Deepak Chopra, a certified Master Law of Attraction practitioner through Drs. Joe Vitale and Steve Jones, and a soon-to-be-certified EFT (tapping) teacher through the Center for EFT Studies, I will show you how I went from a chronic-pain sufferer with numerous ailments to a vibrant, healthy, prosperous individual. It boiled down to realizing three things:
1) Your emotions deeply affect your physical health and must be dealt with or nothing is going to change.
2) We are made of energy, and change must come from an energetic level.
3) What you eat matters … more than you can imagine.
I have spent a good deal of my life in chronic pain. I have sought nearly every remedy you can imagine. Many of them helped temporarily. But it wasn’t until I realized that most illness and pain arises from our emotions that I was able to begin healing. This single idea set me on a path greater than I ever could have imagined, and I want to share what I’ve learned with you. I will tell you what worked and what didn’t. I will tell you of my personal experiences with the methods I use and how they have changed my life, in hopes that they might do the same for you. My goal is for you to become a wellness warrior!
I am a wellness writer and book editor by day and a spa and wellness fanatic by … well, day and night. I have a master’s degree in writing and editing. I moved from New York to Philadelphia to Santa Fe, New Mexico, where I immediately got hired at Ten Thousand Waves, a world-renowned Japanese spa. I continue to immerse myself in all things spa. A new moisturizer on the market? Got it. A hair treatment? Got that too. I’ve been kneaded, scrubbed, hot-stoned, and facialized (I can make up words … I’m an editor, remember?)
In 2012, I took my first meditation course, which was at the Chopra Center in California. This would put me on a trajectory of immersive study in areas of spirituality and wellness. In 2016, I became a student at the Vedic Chant Center (now called Chant Source) in Santa Fe, where I learned Vedanta (the Bhagavad Gita and the Upanishads) and Sanskrit. In 2017, I became a certified meditation teacher through the Chopra Center. I then studied Ayurveda at the Ayurvedic Institute in Albuquerque, New Mexico, where I earned a certificate in Ayurvedic Healing, and in the Principles of Pranayama. In 2021, I became a Certified Practitioner in the Law of Attraction and then a Master Practitioner. I am currently earning my certification in the Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), or “tapping.”
When I’m not busy helping authors make their books, websites, or documents shine—did I mention I’m the owner of www.TheWriteEdit.com?—I’m probably looking for an exciting spa vacation, a new course to expand my knowledge, or a way to help someone through the use of meditation, the Law of Attraction, or EFT.
Through my studies, I have learned that each wellness practice has merit. EFT is an effective, quick way to calm the nerves and lower stress instantly, for example. The Law of Attraction is a lifestyle that reprograms one’s thinking for better outcomes. Meditation has a wealth of benefits, including lower blood pressure, self-awareness, and physical and emotional healing. As a writer, my passion is to spread awareness of the various ways to keep us happier and healthier.
Some of my spa posts are product reviews. As a disclosure, some companies do offer me samples of their product, for this purpose. This in no way influences my professional opinion about their product. Reviews are 100% my own content and are written completely without bias.
